Do you need accurate data of the interior of a complex workpiece, without destroying the part?
|Do you have a prototype with no drawing or design model?
Are you looking for equipment damage, cracks and pores in your assemblies? Then our new services in the field of computer tomography are the perfect solution for your needs!
Computed tomography (CT) has been used since the 1970'ies, especially in the medical field in addition to the classic X-ray technology. While X-ray technology provides a two-dimensional image of an object, computer tomography generates a three-dimensional model of the object.
The use of CT in the industrial field is relatively new. The technical progress in X-ray technology and extremely powerful personal computers led to affordable CT systems with useful resolution and accuracy in recent years. In a short period of time, CT has been proven itself in industrial quality control and found its way into test labs. The new analysis capabilities with CT open a wide field of new applications.
The product life cycles are getting shorter, despite a greater variety. As a result, pressure rises to shorten development and production processes as well. At the same time the quality requirements on the products are getting biger. Computed tomography can be used to test a work piece for material errors, the digitization of prototypes or for complete dimensional analysis.
Thus CT is becoming a comprehensive tool for quality control. Especially with work pieces that are, due to internal contours or soft materials, not or only partially measureable or are composed of different materials.
WENZEL Metromec AG is now offering CT services
With the modern WENZEL exaCT Workstation from Volumetrik, structures can be made visible that until now were to be examined conventionally only with great time and expense. The inspection of the assembly is non-destructive.
