Basic Training: Manual Geometry

Duration 3 days
Participants 1 to 3 persons
Requirements AUKOM level 1 or basics of metrology and PC operation under Windows
Objective Introduction in Metrosoft QUARTIS using CNC controlled measuring machines in order to measure geometrical work pieces and create measurement reports independently
Subjects
  • Structure of the user interface
  • Create reference sphere and calibrate styli / probe systems
  • Operation of the used manual rotate and swivel head from Renishaw
  • Measurement of all geometrical elements
  • Geomtrical graphics (contents and operation of the 3D graphic window)
  • Element graphics, range trend diagram, point distribution
  • Processing of measured or calculated elements
  • Define and save coordinate systems
  • Determine and tolerate features according to DIN, ISO and ASME norms
  • Create and print tabular or graphical reports
  • Create, correct, print and interpret part inspection programs
  • Use of the integradted context sensitive help (CM Help)
  • Basic database knowledge

 

Basic Training: Geometry CNC

Duration 4 days (+1 day with scanning probe systems)
Participants 1 to 3 persons
Requirements Basics of metrology and PC operation under Windows
Objective Introduction in Metrosoft QUARTIS using CNC controlled measuring machines in order to measure geometrical work pieces and create measurement reports independently
Subjects As basic training: Manual geometry, additionally:
  • Automatisms with the measurement of elements
  • All CNC functions with error handling
  • Creating part inspection programs with CNC
  • Operation of the used motorized rotate and swivel head
  • Operation and calibration of the automatic stylus changing systems used by the customer
  • Operation and calibration of the probe systems used by the customer

 

Advanced Training Geometry

Duration 2 days
Participants 1 to 3 persons
Requirements Basic Training: Manual Geometry or Basic Training: Geometry CNC
Objective Detailed knowledge of Metrosoft CM to ensure the use of this high performance software using all its possibilities and potential.

Basic Training: Surfaces and profiles with CAD nominal data (SURF)

Duration 3 days
Participants 1 to 3 Persone
Requirements Experience in metrology with Metrosoft CM.
Objective Practical introduction into the surface functions of Metrosoft CM and the ability to carry out measurements of CAD surfaces and to interpret reports.
Subjects Metrosoft CM-SURF (Surface Measurement)
  • Import of surface date (CAD model) in different CAD formats
  • Loading of additional CAD Files and/or Help Files
  • Saving selected elements as new ACIS files
  • Grouped CAD File Conversion
  • Use of the 3-D Graphic window (CAD Functionality)
  • Layer management for CAD-Model
  • Create circle, rectangle, slot on a CAD model
  • Mirror surface data
  • Graphical analysis functions
  • Take over geometric elements into the actual surface
  • Mesasure free form surfaces with an on-line nominal/actual comparison

    Consider tolaernces/deviations, define max. correction
    Single coordinate Bestfit: minimize point deviation, set to zero or not consider
Metrosoft CM-BORD (Border Measurement, zu CM-SURF)
  • Measurement of edge points either rectangular or at any angle in relation to the reference surface
  • Measure intersection curves on free form surfaces
  • Measure offset curves on free form surfaces
  • Evaluation of the A/B deviation (spring-up / length deviation)
Metrosoft CM-CURVE (Curve Measurement, zu CM-SURF)
  • Calculate plane and cylinder intersections on CAD model

Basic Training: Surfaces and profiles defined thru points (BAFF)

Duration 1 day
Participants 1 to 3 Persone
Requirements Experience in metrology with Metrosoft CM Geometry.
Objective Practical introduction into the point based surface functions of Metrosoft CM to be able to carry out measurements and interpret reports on your own
Subjects
  • Measurement of unknown plane curves, gird curves and form curves
  • Kink, Interrupt, and close curve insertion
  • Create nominal element out of actual element
  • Measure actual element with nominal/actual comparison online
  • Create feature "nominal/actual comparison" and "line form"
  • Extract circles and lines out of plane curves and actual curves
  • Measurement of point surfaces
  • Graphical and numerical reporting with individual legends
  • Creation of report templates with one or several views
  • Import points from profiles and point surfaces into part inspection program (measurement according to specifications)
Metrosoft CM-VDA1 (Verband Deutscher Automobilhersteller)
  • Import and export of point and element data in VDA-FS format

 

Basic Training: Offline programming with Metrosoft CM-GRIPS

Duration 2 days

Requirements Experience in metrology with Metrosoft CM Geometry
Objective ractical introduction in the offline programming with Metrosoft CM
Subjects
  • Import of surface data (CAD model) in different CAD formats
  • Adding furter CAD files and/or auxiliary files
  • Save selected elements as new ACIS file
  • Operation of the 3D graphics window (CAD functionality)
  • Layer management for CAD model
  • Link nominal data with geomtetrical graphics
  • Interactively create geometrical elements with point distribution
  • Create probe systems offline
  • Interactively add and/or edit probe and intermediate points
