Official Inauguration of the New WENZEL Plant

The 6th of November 2013 was the official inauguration of the new plant in Shanghai. Compared to the old location, the building area was tripled in size. In a festive ceremony, the Managing Director of the WENZEL Group Frank Wenzel and Dr. Heike Wenzel-Däfler symbolically cut the red ribbon together with the management team .

Since its founding in 2005 WENZEL Shanghai has continuously expanded its business for the WENZEL Group in China. To meet the great demand for WENZEL products in China, the subsidiary has now moved to a larger production facility covering an area of nearly 5,000 square meters. It is a world class production facility for outstanding CMMs. CMMs made by WENZEL in Shanghai today are sold mainly all over Asia.

The expansion highlights the important strategic position of China for WENZEL. "This opening of our new factory in Shanghai is a big milestone not only for WENZEL Shanghai, but for the whole WENZEL Group," said Frank Wenzel in his speech. To meet the increasing demand of Chinese industry requirements, it was necessary to produce the machines locally. In addition, technical support and sales support to all Chinese customers are ensured by the new location.

Dr. Heike Wenzel-Däfler praised the performance of the entire staff and underlined the achievements of the management team. It was a big step for a family-owned company from Germany to come to China in 2005 with all its opportunities but also with many challenges. At this time, the total staff in China was 7 employees. Now the WENZEL staff in Shanghai is about 100 employees which exceeds by far the expectations from 2005.
